Taking Dual Credit courses is an exciting way to jumpstart your college career right here at Brownwood High School. To ensure a smooth transition into these collegiate opportunities, students are asked to complete all enrollment steps by the posted deadlines. Please note that because we work closely with our college partners, we are unable to accept late enrollments—so we encourage you to get started early!

-This is a voluntary, co-operative effort among 137 Texas community colleges and universities to facilitate transfer of freshman and sophomore level general academic coursework.
We also reccommend checking the website of the college or university you are planning to attend.

TSI College Readiness-You must meet TSI Readiness by meeting one of the qualifiers below for the intended subject area (Regardless of previous dual credit enrollment students must meet college readiness standards.):

Fall Dual Credit Information
Before getting started, we recommend that you email or schedule a visit with your counselor to discuss the various options available for dual credit.
Brownwood ISD currently only pays tution for dual credit courses that are taken during the school year. Books and other fees are not included. *Math and Science books may cost $150 per semester.
Dual-credit courses through Ranger College are an affordable way for high school students to get a jump start on their future. Students take college courses that simultaneously move them towards both high school graduation and a college degree or certification.

Complete and submit the online dual credit application

You should receive an email stating “you are conditionally accepted.”

To participate, students must have one parent permission form on file. It's recommended that you check with your school counselor to make sure that the form has been submitted.

Dual Credit, also referred to as dual enrollment, is available to students who have completed their freshman year at accredited high schools and are looking to gain college credit while completing core requirements for high school.
